Strung out in heaven's high, hitting an all time low

This is my outfit for tonight, actually. I decided to go ahead and dress myself several hours prior to tonight's events. Knit hats with bows make for great temporary-eye makeup. 

This was inspired by an outfit post by Tavi of Style Rookie and I tried to get a very tame Rodarte feel (one sleeve, the overlap, a belt that attempts to blend in, etc.)

I may lose the green fabric that is my sturdy scarf though, it's kind of throwing off the colour coordination and is creating an awful bulge in my skirt that makes me look like I'm going to be a mother in several months. 

Off to makeup doing and then lurking around for an hour. I'm clearly overly anxious right now.

Oh, and if you haven't heard this song before, please to do so now. Bowie's middle name is "life-altering". The music video is much better though. YouTube just loves being unreasonable and not allowing people to embed awesome music videos.

I promised myself I would only do the first tag anyone had ever given me, if that moment ever occured. Apparently it has. Thank you Alice.

Four places I go to over and over
The caged tiled building that is school, the thai restaurant several blocks over, the Goodwill and several of my close friend's houses, just about equally.

Four people who email me regularly
I am never e-mailed. The only ones I recieve are from universities nowadays. There are other forms of communication.

Four favorite smells
Clean air, fresh cut grass, lilacs, and gasoline. (loldisparity)

Four places I would rather be right now
Frolicking in the sea, walking down the streets of Manhattan in stilettos, screaming at the top of my lungs as high as the Eiffel Tower can take me, or cuddling with someone I hold dear to me.

Four TV shows I watch
Lost, Flight of the Conchords, The Simpsons, and Six Feet Under (I know it's over but I still watch the seasons continuously like it's my job and it deserves recognition).

It's all quiet now.

What I wore on Saturday. The two tone tights still throw people off. Especially drunk people you've never met before.

Paolo Roversi and nerdiness

I find myself growing an extreme appreciation for Roversi photos. The feel of all his photos are the epitome of photographic perfection. He can make anyone or anything look beautiful no matter what the circumstances.

My outfit last night. Donned my Doc Martens, of course. Its refreshing showing up to a house filled with Aberzombies you've never spoken to before looking like this. Maybe they'll stop watching MTV and walk into H&M instead of Hollister for once. Of course intoxication helps.

It's all thrifted but the jacket from Old Navy, the skirt from H&M and the tights from... well, they're tights, I'm sure you can find them anywhere. Or are those even considered tights? Pantyhose would be a more appropriate term.

I think this outfit was a bit influenced from all the neutrals in NYC Fashion Week I've been gushing over. Rodarte dresses and Libertine bookshelf prints aside.
